CSIA: Working in Cold Weather

The Working in Cold Weather class is offered in two formats. The single-user model allows an individual to view the PowerPoint slides and notes online and take a quiz upon completion. They have access to the digital library where additional information is located. There they will find a handout and a notes page with each of the slides defined. 
Objective- The objective of this class is to inform technicians as to the risks associated with working in cold weather. Illnesses associated with cold weather exposure, injuries and first aid are covered, as well as identifying areas of risk and prevention. The student will be better informed about all of these issues after completing the class. 
Summary – This class defines a variety of risks including; being able to recognize symptoms of hypothermia and frostbite and how to prevent both. They will learn to be familiar with the adverse effects of wind chill and the importance of wearing protective clothing and staying dry. The class includes a 10 question quiz offered online at the end. The student must complete the quiz to earn CEU’s for the class.
